10 Affirmations To Help You Eat Healthy

December 8, 2021 By Karen Ficarelli

All great successes begin with an idea and a decision to turn that idea into a reality. This same principal can be applied to eating healthier, once you make the decision, you begin preparing your mind to accept this new idea and to find ways to make it happen.

Controlling the mind is the secret to controlling the body. Every success is first achieved in the mind. You must believe it to achieve it. The difference between where you are and where you want to be is how you think. When you want to make lifestyle changes such as eating healthy and managing your weight, affirmations can help you condition your mind to take control.

Start your day with positive affirmations to lift you up and strengthen your will. Let go of limiting beliefs, be confident in your abilities and realize that you are closer to your goal than you were yesterday. With each affirmation, build yourself up in body, mind and soul.

Affirmations will inspire your journey toward eating healthy for life. These positive statements will program your mind for success. Repeat the affirmations several times daily and write them down. This repetitiveness helps to confirm the belief in your mind and will make it easier to modify your eating patterns.

Affirmations build confidence that you will succeed, and you will. These positive statements are the truth within you. By speaking your truth, you affirm your decision to eat healthy and make positive steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

Below are 10 affirmations that work for me. Repeat these several times and draw strength from the power of these positive thoughts. Feel free to add your own affirmations to the list.

1. I love to eat healthy foods.
2. I crave vegetables.
3. I prefer fruit to greasy fries.
4. Small portions fill me up.
5. Water is my thirst quencher.
6. I drink water more than any beverage.
7. I look for ways to make my foods healthier.
8. When I am hungry, I will reach for healthy foods.
9. I take time to savor the taste of my food.
10. Healthy foods make me feel stronger.

Your best life, your best body is not a fantasy, it is right there waiting for you to grab hold and accept what is rightfully yours. Stop making excuses, stop procrastinating, start by taking action and do it today. You know you want to be the best that you can be, and you have the potential to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

So many times, we prioritize all other matters before our own health. From financial concerns, to job duties, to household tasks to taking care of others, we find ways of putting all these things ahead of our own health and at the risk of our own happiness.

Taking care of oneself is not a selfish trait. It is essential for your psychological, emotional and physical well-being. It is an all-important responsibility that will ensure a healthier and happier existence for you and those who love you. One of the best things about taking care of yourself is that you have the energy and peace of mind to help others.

Nurture yourself every single day. Start each morning with a healthy breakfast, taking time to enjoy every bite of your food. Eat nutritious foods and exercise daily or at least 6 times a week. A healthy and active lifestyle will bring you joy beyond belief. Be good to yourself body, mind and soul.

Repeat your daily affirmations, providing the positive reinforcement that will help you meet the challenges of the day. Allow time for prayer or meditation. When you make the positive decision to live a healthier lifestyle and follow it up with action, everything will begin to change. From the way you look to the way you think, a healthier, more active lifestyle brings positive transformation.

Do it today. For yourself, your family and your friends, you have everything you need to achieve your goal. The time for excuses is over, take control and make the commitment. I know you can do it. You have the potential to live life to the fullest.

The Courage to Change

October 6, 2021 By Karen Ficarelli

If you aren’t living your best life, then create the life you were meant to experience. It won’t happen overnight. Changing course is a process. It happens slowly, step-by-step. It starts with the courage to change and the persistence to ensure you end up where you want to be.

For many women, just getting through the day seems daunting enough. But if you believe that you deserve a better life and are ready to make the needed changes, then you can begin today. Just shrug off that cloak of deception, the one telling you that you can’t and emerge victorious to say, “I can.”

You have the power to make the transformation. Start by writing down all the reasons you want to change. If you want to lose weight, define why you want to lose weight. What will change in your life if you do lose weight? How will changing your diet affect your lifestyle?

Set goals for yourself, but make sure they are attainable. It is a good idea to set long-term and short-term goals for better progress. Studies have shown that women who focused on short term goals were more likely to lose weight and less likely to stray from their diet plan. Achieving your weight loss goals offers a feeling of accomplishment that leads to long term success.

Find a diet and exercise program that works best for you. Remember that fad diets are not the answer to true transformation. They offer a quick fix, which is usually neither. Look, instead, for a diet and exercise program that works with your lifestyle. You don’t want to feel stressed about trying to fight traffic to get to the gym or feeling angry because you are hungry from not eating enough. Make sure you pick the perfect program for you.

Having the courage to change is not easy. Our brains get lulled into comfortable habits, making it difficult to introduce new behaviors and ideas. Convince the mind and the body will follow. From positive affirmations to journaling to diet and exercise, you have the power and the resources to achieve your goals.

Health And Happiness – The True Connection

September 15, 2021 By Karen Ficarelli

Happiness and healthiness go hand in hand. A healthy body, mind and soul is a happy body, too. On the same note, when you are unhealthy it is hard to be very happy. But people do persevere. Even in the worst of diseases and illnesses, many people can find the bright side of life. They look for the positive in the rubble of the negative. Although suffering from their illnesses, these remarkable people choose a positive attitude over a negative one.

Studies have shown that negative emotions and thoughts harm the body. Long-term stress and fear can alter biological systems and over time can cause illnesses such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Chronic anger and anxiety can interfere with the heart’s electrical functions and lead to cardiac disease. Have you ever felt your heart race when you are scared or angry? Your stomach too, may begin to hurt due to the release of certain hormones that are released by the body when it is stressed. These negative emotions have a harmful effect on your body.

Striving to live a healthy lifestyle can make you very happy. Of course, it won’t ensure happiness, as there are many other areas of your life that factor into your own personal equation of happiness. However, all preferences aside, living a healthy lifestyle means fewer colds and illnesses, less bloating and gas, less times waiting on food or being hungry and building the body you always wanted.

Living a healthy lifestyle means never having to say you are sorry. You automatically forgive yourself and those around you so that you can live a life of true grace and beauty. You will be amazed at how wonderful you can feel when you let go of negative feelings and embrace love and forgiveness. This also applies to your diet and exercise efforts. Be happy with your achievements but don’t ever stop trying. Let patience and persistence be your guiding mantra. Remembering to be patient with your body and persistent in your efforts.

I strive for health and happiness every day. My husband and children remind me of how important my health is to my family and how grateful I am for their health, too. When I focus on all that we have to be thankful for, I feel all my stress and anxiety melt away. I do believe there is a direct connection between health and happiness, and I am so happy to be healthy and truly want you to be healthy and happy, too.
