Physical Transformations Begin with Psychological Affirmations

October 21, 2020 By Karen Ficarelli

Transforming your body from its current state to a stronger, leaner, shapelier figure is more complicated than simply exercise alone. In order to make a difference in your physical appearance, you must change the way you think. Exterior changes require interior motives.

If you are ready to make changes in your life, you must be committed body, mind and soul. The body cannot do what the mind is not in agreement with and the mind cannot connect if the soul is not satisfied. If you want to transition your body from its current physical shape to a stronger, healthier physique, you must change the way you think about food, exercise and the importance of fitness and health.

Daily affirmations will help you build the confidence you need to achieve your goals. Before leaving for work or your workout, take time to meditate on your affirmations so that as you speak them, you wholeheartedly believe the words you tell yourself.

Below are 20 Affirmations to lift you up and help you meet the challenges of your next workout.

1. I will have an excellent workout today.
2. My legs are stronger.
3. I am excited to exercise.
4. My body is challenged but I will not give up.
5. I have the willpower to complete my workout.
6. My body is working, my body is changing.
7. This is difficult today but will be easier tomorrow.
8. I am proud of myself for exercising.
9. I am transforming my body and taking charge.
10. My new image is less fat, more muscle.
11. I feel healthier and stronger.
12. I have balance within my body, mind and soul.
13. I focus on positive progress not perfection.
14. My mind is focused, my goals are clear.
15. I am strong and healthy.
16. I am meeting my fitness goals.
17. I enjoy physical activity.
18. Exercise rejuvenates my body, mind and soul.
19. Daily exercise is making me stronger.
20. Staying fit and active makes life fun.

Boost Your Workout with Daily Affirmations

March 25, 2020 By Karen Ficarelli

Begin each day by boosting your mental workout and see the results in your physical workout. Your mind is a crucial component to a healthy and successful fitness program. Your mind must believe in order for your body to achieve. Research proves that repeating positive affirmations to yourself helps everything from reducing stress to improving your overall health.
Affirming your commitment to your fitness goals is an excellent way to train your body and your brain to work harder, go farther and see lasting results. Begin with short term goals and graduate into longer term goals. Each hurtle you overcome is a story of success.

Visualization helps to move you closer to your goals. Picture your perfect image of your body. Imagine you looking exactly the way you want to look and feel, not someone else’s idea of the way you should look. Visualize a healthy, firm, toned you.

Affirmations complement your overall fitness program. Combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, affirmations feed your mind and renew your soul. Affirmations provide you with the power to make changes and succeed.

Daily affirmations should be repeated several times each day. You can repeat them as you get dressed in the morning, on your way to work, before your workout and on your journey home. Writing down your affirmations gives power to these positive words as they make an indelible print on your mind and soul.
Below are a few affirmations that I use in my rotation. I have hundreds that I have used over the years to help me overcome obstacles and give me the positive reinforcement I need to succeed.

I am healthy, I am whole.
My body is a gift that I cherish.
I love my body.
I love feeling healthy and strong.
I can go further.
I feel strong.
I am energetic.
I choose to change.
I am determined to achieve my goals today.
Exercise is fun.
Eating healthy makes me feel better.

Arise and Shine

October 2, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

Just because it’s no longer summertime doesn’t mean you need to sleep the day away. Early morning is one of the best times for affirmations. The quiet solitude of an early summer morning helps me to reflect on my many incredible blessings. With my household still asleep, I retreat to my place of meditation and allow myself this wonderful indulgence.
I repeat my affirmations daily, not the same ones, mind you. I have many. These beautiful words of hope are more like declarations of facts that I know to be true.

For me, saying my affirmations helps me to begin my day on a completely positive, self -directive path. Afterwards, my mind is clearer, my stress levels are reduced and I feel completely rejuvenated and refreshed. My affirmations help me to deal with life’s day-to-day challenges.

Affirmations in the morning are a lot like breakfast. Starting the day with these powerful words gives me guidance and instills a sense of confidence that sustains me for the day. Just as my body relies upon the food I eat for energy, my spirit draws upon the power of these affirmations to help me face the challenges of the day.

Arise each morning and be thankful for another day. You have an entire day to devote to all that you deem important. Whether that includes working outside the home or taking care of the household, how you spend your day can include a little time devoted just to you. In addition to your affirmations, you will want to set aside at least 30 minutes each and every day for exercise. You can take a day off each week to rest, just as long as you exercise at the very least, for 30 minutes on the other 6 days of the week.

Remember that affirmations should always be positive and without hesitation. Constant reminders of the goals that you want to achieve, your affirmations must be recited as a declaration of what you are doing and plan to do in the future. For instance, instead of saying, “I will get slimmer” use the words, “I am getting slimmer.” In the second affirmation the words “I am” indicate the action is already taking place, rather than a mere hope of something happening by chance.

It may take a little practice in the beginning but give affirmations a try. When I first started I couldn’t think of much to say, now I have so many it’s easy to say different ones each day.

Affirmations for Weight Loss

March 6, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

Choosing the right diet and exercise is a major hurdle to losing weight. Still, even with the best efforts, some of those stubborn pounds just seem to hang on. Women can start to feel as if all this hard work and sacrifice isn’t accomplishing anything. Unfortunately, we begin to blame ourselves for not losing the weight. We deem ourselves as failures and give up on our weight loss goals. Then, we feel worse about ourselves for having given in. It is a vicious cycle, but there is an easy way to overcome these negative feelings. The process of weight loss starts in the mind. Change the way your brain perceives your weight loss goals and watch the pounds melt away.

Daily affirmations can boost your weight loss efforts and empower you to achieve your goals. These positive phrases can help to change your insight about yourself. Affirmations work by replacing negative thought patterns with positive ones. Instead of focusing on what you don’t have or what you want to have, affirmations re-program your thoughts to truly appreciate what you already have.

Studies have shown that if our mind is comfortable with a certain number on the scale, our bodies will maintain that weight. It is as if our brain gives permission to the body to stay that size. Negative thoughts not only prevent weight loss, in many occasions, these destructive reinforcements can even make you gain weight. You must break the habit of negative thoughts and replace them, with positive affirmations.

Your body is listening to what you tell it—isn’t it time you said something encouraging?
Your affirmations should always be in the present. Refrain from projecting into the future. Praise your body for where it is now not where it might be.

Below are 10 positive affirmations that are targeted at weight loss. After you have become comfortable with these, begin to make your own list of these wonderfully positive reinforcements for your body, mind and soul.

1. I give myself recognition beyond food.
2. I am my ideal weight.
3. I can say “No.”
4. My body’s natural state is to be lean.
5. I am fulfilled.
6. Food is a resource I manage wisely.
7. My metabolism works great.
8. My body knows what to do with what I give it.
9. Everything I eat nourishes my body.
10. I feel thinner today.
