Wipe Away Worry With Positive Affirmations

September 4, 2013 By Karen Ficarelli

The next time you feel stressed with worry about a crucial matter, try to curb that worry with positive thoughts and affirmations. The problem with worry is that it seldom helps to change the situation that you are worried about. Sure, it is natural to be concerned and to think about, analyze and discuss problems and situations. However, as most of you would agree, worrying over a matter does nothing to actually solve or lessen the effects of the problem. In fact, worrying just makes things worse.

Worry—that nagging feeling of helplessness that comes over many of us, can actually make us sick. When a little bit of worrying turns into stress, it can accelerate heart rate, cause anxiety, irritation, anger and tearfulness. If left unchecked, excessive stress from worry can lead to depression and other health related problems.

The good news is that there is a simple way to avoid the problems associated from worry-related stress. All you need to do is to change the conversation going on in your mind. Stop setting yourself up for the worried feeling. Stop concentrating on things of which you have no control. Make a plan to change the things that you can and then relinquish the matters that you can’t do anything about. Replace the nagging feeling in your mind with positive thoughts that heal.

When you begin to feel hopeless, sad, or nervous, just stop whatever you are doing and address the situation. Take out a sheet of paper and write down the problem along with possible solutions. This little act does wonders to ease your worrying mind. If the problem is too large to figure out any solutions and your feelings of helplessness and hopelessness still exist, you can change the way you are feeling by repeating positive affirmations.

Positive affirmations allow you to interrupt the mind’s obsession with problems that are worrying you. In order to do that you must rid yourself of negative thoughts to make room for the positive. As you flood your mind with positive, empowering thoughts, you will feel the negativity, worry and stress release their hold on you. Positive feelings will flow through your body, making you stronger and more confident.

If you are looking for some affirmations for times when you feel worried or afraid, I have provided some below to get you started.

When you feel hopeless:
1. I have hope and courage deep inside me.
2. I choose to believe that there is always hope.
3. Each day is another chance to be better.
4. I can do all things through faith.
5. I am strong, wise and brave.

When you feel worried about a problem:
1. I know what the problem is and am making plans to fix it.
2. Now that I am working on my solution, I can focus my attention on my diet and plan my meals for today.
3. I am in charge of my life and accept problems as challenges to conquer.
4. Each obstacle is a chance to grow and learn.
5. I love the way exercise allows me to forget my problems as I focus on my body’s strength.

Let In The Light With Affirmations of Love

June 26, 2013 By Karen Ficarelli

Affirmations are like opening the windows and letting the light from the sun shine in. Overcome with negative thoughts and confusing messages from outside sources, affirmations unleash the bonds of negativity to bring forth our own natural light from within. Affirmations are a positive way to affirm your beliefs and resolve to make positive changes in your life.

When you want to improve your body and make it healthier, affirmations can be essential in helping you reach your goal. Affirmations should be spoken aloud and with conviction. You absolutely must believe what you are telling yourself. A positive attitude is essential to harnessing the power of your affirmations.

Positive thoughts and possessing a positive attitude are the weapons needed to conquer negative thoughts and the damage that a negative attitude can have. Negativity is like a weed that grows rapidly to choke out the light and air from all living things around it. If not conquered, it can grow out of control. However, positive thoughts and actions proclaimed through affirmations can squash negative thoughts and feelings.

If you are trying to lose weight, you probably know by now that it is not easy. It’s hard to make lifestyle changes like those needed to reduce calories. There may be foods that you need to avoid; you may feel like you have been dieting without any results. This can lead to negative thoughts and feelings of defeat.

Fight these feelings of negativity with affirmations that let in the light. Affirm that you are losing weight, that your clothes are fitting better. Affirm that the foods that you eat now will help you grow stronger and keep you fuller longer. Reflect on the benefits that you are enjoying because you have made the decision to eat healthy foods.

To help you get started, write down some affirmations that you feel strongly about. Read and reread them so that they feel real to you. Stand in front of a mirror and repeat the affirmations to your reflection. Believe in yourself and let the light in with affirmations of love for your life, your body and your soul.

Your physical health depends on a healthy mind and soul. Stress is responsible for many illnesses and that is why it is important to feed our mind and spirit with positive affirmations. A positive attitude has been known to cure sickness as well as helping the weak conquer the mighty. This only proves that an “I can” attitude really does work.

Focus On The Positive

April 17, 2013 By Karen Ficarelli

I believe that affirmations are essential when you want to lose weight and make healthy changes for life. Affirmations super charge the brain and make the connection between body, mind and soul. When you focus on positive thoughts and actions, your brain picks up on these thoughts and sets about a path to make them happen. That’s why it is important to focus on positive thoughts and shut out the negative ones.

When you want to take your women’s fitness workout to the next level, you want to focus on your success. Each week, make a plan to increase an area of your workout and follow this with positive affirmations that confirm your accomplishment. For instance, if you have begun adding weights, your affirmation to focus on would be that you are getting stronger. Another affirmation could be that your arms are looking better or that your legs are looking leaner.

If you are trying to lose weight keep in mind that the number on the scale is not the only important factor. That number will change eventually. Other indicators to note are how your clothes are fitting—are they fitting better, looser? Do you feel stronger, sexier and prettier? Tell yourself these things. Focus on these positive aspects.

Affirmations have a power all of their own because they help your brain to focus on the positive. When you want to accomplish a task, it is important that your mind is in tune with your physical body because it is responsible for the hormones that control emotions and physical sensations such as hunger. It also has much to do with our strength and ability to win or lose in competition. If you think you can or if you think you can’t, your mind will believe you.

I am stronger.
I will work out today.
Today, I will walk an extra mile.
Today, I will run instead of walk.
I will lift an extra 5 pounds today.

Write down your affirmations and repeat them to yourself. Standing in front of a mirror will bring you face to face with yourself. Look deep into your eyes and repeat your affirmations with conviction. Remember to stick to the positive and stay away from the negative. Your mind has a tendency to take the easy road, so instead of saying I will lose weight, concentrate on being thin and skinny. Focus on the positive and train your brain to do your bidding.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Do I Believe My Affirmations After All?

February 6, 2013 By Karen Ficarelli

When you say your affirmations, do you stand in front of a mirror? Standing in front of a mirror and looking deep into your own eyes, you come face to face with yourself and connect with your subconscious and allow the power of your affirmations to take effect.

Affirmations are defined as positive or even negative statements that you say repeatedly to yourself. Stated with conviction, whether true or false these affirmations can become seated in our mind and become a reality in our lives. The mind can become convinced of anything that it is told over and over. Once set on a path, it develops habits to accomplish the mission it has been assigned. That mission can be a positive one, like losing weight through diet and exercise or it can be a negative one, like a self-destructive behavior.

The brain’s laziness can work to your advantage when you want to make lifestyle changes like losing weight. You can train it easily, by repeating commands and affirmations that will help make your diet and exercise plan a success. By making a plan, you are clearly on your way to losing weight. You can make it happen with a positive attitude and some hard work.

Stand in front of a mirror and look deep into your own eyes. You are a magnificent person, worthy of love and understanding. You can accomplish what you set out to do. You are strong and confident. Make these affirmations to yourself and repeat them over and over. Crush the ill effects that any negative thoughts or condemning words have had in your life. Shake off the negativity and flood your mind with positive thoughts and words.

Affirmations for losing weight might go something like this:
• I am getting thinner.
• My clothes are fitting better.
• I look better naked.
• My waist is getting smaller.
• My knees are prettier.
• My ankles are thinner.
• My neck looks long and sexy.
• My six pack is showing.
• My tummy is getting flatter.
• I look beautiful. I look long and lean.
• I feel confident and alive.
• I am loved.
• I can get through this.

Success comes to those who claim it and it is yours to grab. Losing weight is not easy, finding time to exercise isn’t easy, but making your body healthier, strong and beautiful are rewards that are worth the hard work. Affirmations help to make the connection between mind, body and soul, essential for total fitness and a healthy life.

You Are Who You Think You Are

October 24, 2012 By Karen Ficarelli

As she thinks…so she is.

Are you a winner or a loser? If you think you are defeated, then you are. If you think you are successful, then you are. Now, that’s not saying that you are successful in everything that you do, but you are successful at something, probably lots of things. The point is, your attitude is key to your ability to see yourself as you really are.

I believe we are all winners. Each day that we awake and embrace another day, we are winning the race, we are showing the world that we are champions. We will not let the obstacles in life be our focus. We will use our energy to concentrate on our hopes, dreams and goals.

Give your day a power punch by beginning with positive affirmations. Remind yourself of all that you have to be thankful for. Recite them out loud or write them down and read them back to yourself. Take time for some peaceful meditation, allowing your appreciation for life to fill your spirit with love and gratitude.

Take deep breaths, stretch your arms above your head and lower them back to your sides, slowly and deliberately. Avoid straining, and make sure to relax your face, neck and shoulders. Allow the stress to escape as your mind, body and spirit is filled with positive energy for a healthy balance both physically and mentally.

Dismiss negative thoughts and don’t allow them to rule your actions. Make your self-talk an affirmation of love and appreciation. I guarantee you that if you start each day this way, you will begin to fell less stress and have a better self-image, than punishing yourself with negative words and feelings.

We are interested in your opinion.  Share your thoughts with us and our readers by leaving a comment.
