December 29, 2010 By Karen Ficarelli

A healthy lifestyle can be your key to a happy life, not only today but in the years to come. Choosing to eat nutritious foods, staying active and exercising daily can improve your health and protect you from diseases later in life. But it has to be a conscious decision that you make for yourself.

Each day you are faced with many decisions and temptations. Whether to take skip the gym in order to take care of personal responsibilities, how to resist your favorite dessert at a family gathering, when to say no to alcoholic beverages, the list goes on and on.
In order to establish our stance on many of these challenges we need daily affirmations to keep us focused on our goal.

Daily affirmations are a great way to start the day. These declarations of powerful words and phrases help to lay the foundation for how you will handle the many little things that come up during the day. It’s a wonderful and positive way to stay devoted to a diet and exercise program.

Living a healthy lifestyle can mean never having to diet again. Once you establish a nutritious meal program and implement portion control, you can lose weight and maintain that weight loss by following this simple plan. By making these decisions, you can take control over your health and feel like you are making a difference.

Repeating your daily affirmations helps to supercharge your mind to follow the healthy lifestyle plan. By doing this everyday at approximately the same time each day will soon become a habit that your mind, body and spirit will crave. Use this time for positive thoughts, pushing out any negativity that tries to invade this process.

Practice healthy living every day. Along with your daily affirmations, begin a fitness journal to fortify your efforts. You can record everything you eat and drink and all of your physical activity within your fitness journal. These two tools work together to bring about a mind, body, spirit connection to your goal of a healthy and happy lifestyle.

Lose Weight And Get In Shape With Positive Words Of Praise

December 6, 2010 By Karen Ficarelli

When is the last time you said something wonderful about yourself or even had positive thoughts about something that you have done? If you are having trouble remembering the last time you said or even thought nice things about yourself, then it’s time for some positive words of praise.

We tend to stand in awe of sights such as the ocean, mountains or valleys but of all God’s creations, humans are the most spectacular. Our mental and spiritual strengths cannot be matched. We are truly impressive creatures.

Gifted with the ability to speak, we sometimes forget just how powerful our words can be. We can hurt those that we love with the sharp edged sword that is known as our tongue, crushing egos, wielding painful accusations, or spreading damaging gossip that can forever end a relationship.

In the same breath, we have the power to lift the spirit of the downtrodden, compliment someone’s appearance, even praise the hard work of a colleague. It’s our choice, how we use the words, whether to crush someone’s spirit, anger them or lift them up with positive words of praise.

This is equally true when we consider our own selves. If we speak negatively or possess negative thoughts about ourselves, these words and thoughts tend to linger around in our mental bank. They pop up when we least expect it, nag us with accusations and fear, and stand in the way of our success.

However, if you will begin saying positive affirmations each day, you can change the conversation that is taking place in your head. It’s easy to do and it might well be your key to losing weight and getting in shape.

Begin each day with positive affirmations of what you will do. What you will eat, how mush exercise you will do, how wonderful you look and how healthy you feel because of your healthy choices.

Most importantly, you must believe in the power of your words. Believe that these things are possible. If you must repeat the same words over and over, believe in what you are saying. Practice this every day and you will see how easy it is to lose weight and get in shape with positive words of praise.

Positive Affirmations To Take Off The Pounds

November 11, 2010 By Karen Ficarelli

If you are interested in the power of affirmations, then you’ve come to the right place. I sincerely believe in the positive force that is created through repeated affirmations. I like to say mine first thing in the morning, before I start my day. These declarations provide the boost that I need to get out there and make something wonderful happen.

While I will admit that there are many things that are out of my control, many incidents in life in which I have no say so whatsoever. But for all the things that I can direct whether by my mind or my actions, I want to take the wheel and drive. Because the goals I have are not easy to attain, I need the positive effects of affirmations to help me stay focused to succeed.

What goals have you set for yourself today and how will you go about achieving them? Do you believe whole-heartedly that you can reach your goals; that you can attain success? Shout it out with daily affirmations. These positive words of acknowledgment and praise will challenge your mind and help to bring about desirable results.

Daily affirmations are easy to fit into your busy schedule. All you need is about 5 minutes and the benefits can last throughout the day. Set aside this small amount of time, preferably in the morning. It’s best to repeat your affirmations in front of a mirror and look at your reflection as you say them. You must believe it to achieve it.

So, if your goal is to lose weight then you should repeat affirmations such as:

I am losing weight.
I am eating healthy foods.
I will not overeat today.
I will eat 3 servings of fruit today.
My clothes look better because I am losing weight.
I will eat 3 servings of vegetables today.
My body is my temple.
I feel sexy when I eat healthy foods.
I feel confident that I can lose all the weight that I want.

Sound simple enough? Affirmations are one of the easiest parts of dieting and getting in shape. All you need to do is set aside a few minutes every day. Write out some affirmations that you can believe in and start repeating them to yourself. Put it to the test, but remember in order to get positive results, you must believe that these affirmations that you say are possible in your life. If you don’t believe it can ever happen, then it probably won’t happen.

Start your day on a positive note, set yourself up for success at the beginning of each day. Just 5 minutes of daily affirmations can be the difference between a weight loss program that works and one that does not.

Learning To Diet Successfully With Affirmations

October 20, 2010 By Karen Ficarelli

Have you ever started a diet and knew deep down that you would not be able to stick with it? Perhaps it was too calorie strict, eliminated too many of the foods that you like or just wasn’t the right diet at the right time in your life. One thing is for sure, if you have doubts about your ability to succeed with a diet that is a good indication that it will not work for you.

In order to achieve something as difficult as changing your diet, you must first believe that it is possible. You need to affirm these beliefs by making positive declarations about the success of your diet program. By repeating these affirmations you train your brain to think to shrink.

Once you harness the power of affirmations, you will wonder why you never thought to include them in your program before. Your brain is waiting on the stimuli, you just need to fill it with positive, powerful thoughts that focuses on success. You can easily do this by repeating affirmations of goal driven self-talk that will help you to take action.

Begin your day with affirmations to empower you for success. All you need is about 5 minutes of private time to repeat your affirmations. Do this every day until it becomes a habit. Drive out any negativity and put obstacles in their place. Fill your mind with positive messages of what you will do that day.

Some examples are:

I will eat only healthy foods today.
I will exercise for 5 minutes longer today.
I am stronger because I exercise.
My clothes fit me better because my body is changing.

No matter what your goal, daily affirmations can help you attain success. Every great act begins with an idea. Affirmations will help to take those ideas and start to shape them into a reality. If you believe it, you can achieve it. And that’s the hardest part of the challenge.

Your ability to believe in yourself is the key to your success. While you know for a fact that people can and do lose weight, there is self-doubt within you that says you failed before, be careful you might fail again.

Stamp out that self-doubt! Get rid of those negative thoughts! You can succeed this time. You can make it happen. But you first must believe it is possible. Think it, believe it and achieve it!

Take Your Fitness Program To The Next Level With Daily Affirmations

September 27, 2010 By Karen Ficarelli

Affirmations are great when you are starting a diet or fitness program. But what about the athlete who wants to take their fitness to the next level? Does it help to repeat affirmations when you are trying to increase the intensity or level of fitness?

I always say affirmations each day, but I use them wisely. I don’t just repeat phrases aimlessly. I truly believe in the power of my words and the impact that this self-talk has upon my mind. That’s why I think about my affirmations for a long time before I repeat them aloud. By taking these stance, the words that I repeat to myself have true meaning for my life.

My schedule is very busy. Like many women, I divide my time between family, home, work, friends and community. My passion is helping other women reach their fitness goals and sometimes I get so busy helping others that I neglect the challenges I have set for myself. That’s when my daily affirmations really help me to stay on track.

By making time each morning for my affirmations, I present my brain with the challenge of increasing my workout intensity, prolonging the amount of time I spend exercising or giving myself a goal so that I am always reaching upward when it comes to taking my fitness program to the next level.

I will exercise 10 minutes longer today.
I will run for 2 minutes after every 5 minutes on the treadmill.
I will add an extra pound of weights for each side.
I will do two exercises that engage my core.
I will incorporate circuit training into my workout.

The five affirmations above when repeated several times will do amazing things for your will power. You will start to focus on your goals and will believe that these challenges are entirely possible. Feed your mind with positive affirmations and take your fitness program to the next level.
