Finding Your Passion—The Flower Of Inspiration

April 29, 2011 By Karen Ficarelli

Inspiration without passion usually doesn’t take us very far, especially in women’s fitness. Just getting inspired to exercise and eat right doesn’t mean that we will stick to an exercise program and diet plan. However, combine that inspiration with a true passion for making positive changes and suddenly you will find that you are completely committed to getting in shape.

Passion can be described as any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, for instance having a passion for fitness. Much like having a passion for anything else, such as music, those women who have a passion for fitness feel compelled to make it an important and regular part of their lifestyle.

It’s easy to see why many women are passionate about fitness. Exercise and a healthy diet play such an important role in women’s health that it is no wonder that the inspiration to stay fit comes from the passion and the desire to remain healthy. Unfortunately, many women don’t appreciate their health until it is gone.

For those women who wish to embrace their health, finding the passion and inspiration to participate in a regular women’s fitness program is no problem. Once a wise woman is convinced that certain behaviors attribute to her health, while other practices impede her fitness goals, she will most always choose the healthy path to follow. That’s because she knows that exercise and diet play important roles in her overall health.

Finding your passion can be complicated, especially when it comes to working at something that you love. However, when it comes to fitness, all you need to do is think about how much your body benefits from healthy living. You will soon realize the passion for life that inspires you to stick to a fitness program that works for you.

Staying inspired and motivated to stick to a fitness plan is much easier when it comes from that burning desire within each of us—passion, the flower of inspiration.

Women’s Fitness Begins With Inspiration

April 6, 2011 By Karen Ficarelli

Women understand that in order to become successful with any weight loss or exercise program they must first be inspired to do so. Inspiration is a powerful tool that gives women the courage to make changes in their lives. But finding the inspiration is not always easy.

Inspiration, it has been said, is a divine influence directly exerted upon the mind and soul. Once a woman is inspired to do something, she becomes influenced to make a way to get that certain thing done, like in the case of exercise. Once a woman becomes inspired to stick to an exercise program, she usually follows through with it.

Of course along with inspiration, it takes commitment and dedication. The three of these add up to a successful exercise and fitness program for women and men. But it all starts with finding inspiration.

Inspiration for women’s fitness can come from all kinds of places. Simply consider the benefits of women’s fitness and it won’t be long before you will feel compelled to exercise more and eat healthier. Weight control can be reason enough for some women to stick to their program. However, others may need more convincing.

Women who exercise regularly and eat a well-balanced diet have a greater chance of successfully controlling their weight. In addition, they are generally stronger, more agile and have a lesser chance of becoming injured while performing normal tasks.

Women who stick to a healthy diet have a less chance of developing diseases such as Type II Diabetes. Combine that with regular exercise and many conditions such as osteoporosis and arthritis can be delayed or even avoided. That’s because strong muscles protect bones and joints from further wear and injury.

Cardio activities such as walking, running, dancing, elliptical training or playing sports all help to strengthen the heart and build endurance. These exercises combined with strength training exercises and a diet rich in vitamins and nutrients while being low in saturated fat, low in sodium, low in cholesterol and low in sugar, will help you to control your weight and lead to a healthy and happy lifestyle. And that’s something to get inspired about.

Are You A Woman Who Lives To Serve?

March 14, 2011 By Karen Ficarelli

By helping others, we are able to enrich our own lives.

I recently heard an older woman friend of mine say that she lived to serve. It seemed such an odd statement at the time, but I realized there are many of us who live to serve, though we may never even mention it. Of course there may be others who are reading this and thinking, “No way, I’m not here to serve anyone.”

As women, even though we may reject the thought of serving another, we do live a life of service when it comes to family matters. Years of raising children, assisting the husband, helping the elderly grandparents or parents, volunteering for community projects or just simply helping neighbors are all forms of service to others.

Living a life of service is something to be proud of. It is through each of us that God is able to help others. That’s why it is important to take good care of your health. If you wish to be of service to someone else, you must first provide for your own well being.

Don’t neglect your health or overlook the things that you need to do for yourself. Visit your doctor regularly for check-ups and eat a nutrient rich diet. Get plenty of exercise and fresh air and laugh often. Seek positive avenues of entertainment that will refresh and inspire you.

Give yourself 30 minutes a day that you can call your own and start exercising today. For those of us who serve, we sometimes neglect ourselves, especially when it comes to fitness. With a whopping 1440 minutes in every day, you’ll still have plenty of time to help all the other people in your life.

When you make time for yourself, you become much more effective when helping those that you love. Exercise too, is a great way to spend your time because it gives back ten-fold. Exercise strengthens, builds muscle, increases flexibility, and improves endurance. But it does so much more. Exercise allows the body to burn off calories during and after the workout. It alleviates stress and boosts confidence, too.

Just 30 minutes a day is all it takes to keep yourself healthy and happy so that you can lead a life of service. For those who depend on you, your dedication to your workout will be a benefit to them as well.

From Timid As A Titmouse To Tough As A Tiger

February 18, 2011 By Karen Ficarelli

Exercise unleashes the confidence we all possess.

Before I began exercising, I was as timid as a titmouse. It seemed I was intimidated by just about everything and everyone. Oh, I didn’t come off that way. I had my pride, but that didn’t protect me from the pain of rejection or recrimination that seemed to abound in my youth.

It’s true; before I began exercising I lacked the confidence that I possess today. It wasn’t uncommon for me to shy away from activities because of something that someone had said to me. Much less, tacking some challenge that required me to challenge another’s opinion. Like I said, I was terribly timid.

All of that changed when I started exercising regularly. Now I move gracefully across a room, aware that others may notice me, but confident in my own skin. There is a marked difference in the way that I feel. It has been such a marvelous change for me that it inspires me to tell other ladies how exercise can help them, too.

As a personal fitness trainer, specializing in women’s fitness, my focus is on helping women achieve their goals. I urge the women that I meet to participate in a regular exercise program and eat a nutrient rich diet that is low in saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium and sugar. Not only will this help them to lose weight, it can help to correct hormonal imbalances as well.

Changes in hormone levels can affect weight, energy, and mood. Your diet along with a regular exercise program can improve your health, both physically and mentally. When it comes to finding confidence, there is something about exercising and the feeling of accomplishment that accompanies a good workout.

Even if I am filled with dread about completing an exercise routine, spending time thinking of the number of tasks I need to tackle during the day. I am filled with confidence once I my workout is completed. Perhaps that’s because we are our own biggest obstacles. Once we stand up to our own perpetuated priorities, we gain even more power and confidence.

Today, I am tough as a tiger when I need to be strong. Maybe the tiger was always within me, but exercise was the key that unleashed the toughness and confidence that I now possess.
