From This Day Forward – Healthy Living Day by Day

November 10, 2020 By Karen Ficarelli

Begin your quest for a healthier lifestyle with a journal to chart your goals and help drive your motivation. From this day forward, make a commitment to eat healthy, exercise regularly, get plenty of rest and love your body, mind and soul.

If losing weight is one of your healthy lifestyle goals, there is no better way to shed those pounds than a fitness journal. It has been proven many times that people who keep a fitness journal have far greater success at losing weight than those people who do not.

Recording everything you eat, drink and all the exercise that you do will give you a clear view of your efforts and let you see what is working and what is not. Sometimes you may find that you are consuming more calories than you previously thought. Keeping track of your food intake will help you decide if your current food choices are right for you.

Journaling allows you to focus on specific goals and provides an easy way to chart a path to success. From exercise routines to weightlifting and circuit intervals, you can keep an accurate account of where you began and see your progress along the way. Remember, it’s not about perfection, it’s about progress.

Making the decision to live healthier from this day forward means no looking back at past mistakes. Begin your journal from Day 1 and keep looking forward toward your goal. You can use a notebook, purchase a designated journal or find one online. Just be sure to keep it with you throughout the day for best results.

I find journaling to be a great stress reliever. At the end of the day, after my last meal, I enjoy looking over the day’s events and adding my finishing touch. It is important to keep an accurate account of everything you eat and drink so be sure to log in after every meal.

There are many fitness journals available on the market today. Many journal templates are downloadable online, try to find one that has space for everything you want to record. You can even use a simple notebook and design your own with entries for food intake, exercise notes, as well as measurements and weight information. This will be useful as you chart your success to see where you started and how far you progress.

Writing Your Way To A New You

April 15, 2020 By Karen Ficarelli

Starting a fitness journal is one of the best tools you can have to ensure success. If you are serious about your workout and are interested in losing weight and getting fit, I have the secret to help you slim down and shape up permanently. Journaling is the single most easiest activity to add to your diet and workout plan, and one of the most powerful tools to guarantee success.

You probably already know that it has been proven time and again that people who keep a fitness journal have a far greater chance at losing weight and keeping it off than those who do not. Journaling is one of the best ways to hold yourself accountable for all your food and beverage consumption and your fitness level.

In order to get the most benefit from your fitness journal you must be honest with everything you write down. Make an entry for each day and record everything you eat and drink. Once you get over the shock of how much you really are eating, you can begin to track your exercise and physical activities that you do each day.

Keeping a journal will open your eyes and your mind to what is working for you and what is not. You will be able to better understand your food cravings and chart your day on when you might be the hungriest. This can help you to plan your meal times to better suit your hunger needs. You may need to eat a bigger breakfast but a smaller lunch, or maybe a medium sized lunch and smaller dinner are more suitable to your body. Controlling portion size is very important when you are learning to manage your weight so be sure to write down how much you are eating. Measure or weigh your portions until you get used to eye-balling the amount. You might be surprised at what you thought was a ½ cup.

I find that actually writing with paper and pen work best for me, but you may find that your mobile device or computer are better for storing your data. There is something very personal about actually writing that keeps me accountable but if your online journal works for you, by all means continue with anything you are comfortable with.

Journaling provides a written account of your daily consumption and your fitness level. It’s helpful to look back over your entries and see how far you have come. Especially, at times when you feel like your body isn’t changing but you feel like you are sacrificing and not eating the foods you like. Sometimes, it feels like it is all for nothing. When those times come, sit down, open your journal and compare the early entries with what you are doing now.

Your fitness journal is your confidant and fitness buddy to help you lose weight and get in shape. Be honest, be open, but don’t judge yourself to harshly. Each day is a new day, so start writing and stay focused on your fitness goal. Before you know it you will be writing your way to a new, slimmer, healthier you.

The Secret Tool For A Beautiful Body

October 23, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

Athletes everywhere know the secret to keeping track of their diet and fitness level is by keeping a journal. Eating right and exercising are main components to staying in shape, but if you really want to see your performance soar, then start keeping track of your efforts by beginning a fitness journal. It’s easy, inexpensive, and can be lots of fun.

From everything you eat and drink to all of the physical activities that you engage in, a fitness journal will bring you closer to your goals. It’s a really low-cost method that almost always guarantees success. The only reason a woman doesn’t succeed when keeping a fitness journal is because she gives up before reaching her goal.

Fitness journals are successful because they keep you accountable and encourage honesty about the foods you eat and how much exercise you are really doing. All too often, we make estimates of our daily intake and even about the difficulty level of our workouts. The success of your journal demands honesty from you in order to give you the results you desire.

Keeping a fitness journal makes it easy to remember the exercises you have been doing and how far you have progressed from one workout session to the next. Writing down the exercise and visualizing the execution are all part of the mind, body and spirit connection. The journal will help you to remember every exercise and make it easy to keep track of how many repetitions work best for you.

Starting a new workout usually involves learning new exercises and developing new skills. Keeping a fitness journal allows you to take a few minutes to process what you have learned, repeat the concepts to yourself, and train your brain to put it into action. From one workout to the next, it can be difficult to remember which kettlebell you used or how much weight you lifted on your previous workout. You can also keep track of how much time you spend at different fitness levels, from a slow pace to a fast pace to a full aerobic workout.

Every successful diet and fitness program depends on accountability. Get a jump-start on your weight loss goals and start living a healthier, happier life. Journaling is the secret tool for all those women who desire a beautiful body, so begin your journaling journey today.

A Fitness Journal Will Help You Lose Weight

March 27, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

When you are ready to lose weight, start keeping a fitness journal. It is a proven fact that women who keep a food diary or journal of everything they eat and drink and all of the activity that they do; have a far greater chance of success than those who do not. Just like diet and exercise, journaling is an essential element to weight loss.

A journal is similar to a diary, except that it is a bit more detailed. A fitness journal should be able to track your progress every day. Your fitness journal can be your own private story of your eating habits and your fitness level. Be sure to write your goals each week to keep your journal and diet from becoming mundane and boring.

Before you begin, recording your goals, you’ll want written proof of where you started. What was your weight before you began losing pounds and inches? To have an accurate account of this most important part of your fitness plan you will need to write it down in the very beginning. Use your fitness journal to write down your starting weight, your measurements, your current size and your weight loss and fitness goals.

It doesn’t take much time to keep your journal current; just remember to record everything you eat at snacks and regular meals. The mere act of writing down what you eat at each meal; makes it easier to choose wisely at the next meal. You can also use your journal to write down how you feel when you eat. Are you starving, do you feel guilty about your food choices, do you continue to eat past the point of being full? Addressing these issues can help to determine what your eating patterns are.

Eating should be a celebratory time and never laden with guilt. You can make healthy choices about what you eat and still take pleasure in your food. Feelings of guilt will only make you feel disappointed in yourself. Keep in mind that food is not the problem; food is the answer. Your diet is your way of life; it is what sustains you and makes you whole.

Keeping a fitness journal will keep you accountable, not only for your weight loss but for your overall fitness health. Your fitness journal will be the proof behind your efforts and will give you a clear view of what is working and what isn’t.

Find Your Fitness Secret With Your Fitness Journal

August 30, 2017 By Karen Ficarelli

The best and most successful weight loss programs have something in common, they advocate accountability. We all know that in order to find a solution, we must first identify the problem. When you are trying to lose weight, keeping an account of everything you eat and drink and all your activity will help you to figure out what is working for you and what is not. Accountability is the secret to a successful fitness program and it is the basis for keeping a fitness journal.

Journaling, the act of keeping a journal is not only a helpful tool in keeping you accountable, it also keeps you motivated and focused on your goal. When you begin your journal, be sure to write down your current weight and measurements. On a regular basis, record your weight and measurements as you continue with your diet and exercise. You might not see results in these numbers right away, but you might see other changes, such as your clothes becoming loose or seeing muscle developing where fat used to be.

History is good for reminding us where we used to be. Your journal can be your own history book of how your healthy choices transformed your body, mind and soul. If you begin to feel like you aren’t making strides in your fitness program, just read your entries in the early days when you first got started. I bet your body is much stronger than when you first began your exercise program. Your diet in the past and present is another interesting comparison. When you first started keeping account of what you ate and drank you were probably pretty surprised by all the food that you were eating.

Most people are shocked when they record every bit of food they eat. From the number of teaspoons of sugar in their coffee to the piece of hard candy they eat while standing at a co-worker’s desk, every morsel of food should be written down and recorded. This one act of accountability is tough but it is an awakening call if you are having trouble losing weight.

Always record how you feel when you make changes in your diet. Do you feel satisfied? Are you still hungry? Do you feel irritable or tired? Make changes gradually so that your body has tine to adjust. If you make changes gradually you have a better chance of making these changes a habit. Stay the course, don’t give up, even if you give in and eat too much. Remember each day is a new day and it is never too late to start fresh!
