A Few Of My Favorite Affirmations

July 7, 2015 By Karen Ficarelli

Affirmations are positive words of encouragement. For me, saying my affirmations helps me to begin my day on a completely positive, self -directive path. Afterwards, my mind is clearer, my stress levels are reduced and I feel completely rejuvenated and refreshed. My affirmations help me to deal with life’s day-to-day challenges.

Affirmations are the appetizer for the brain when it comes to a successful diet and fitness program. We all know the important role that the brain plays in most of the habits that come from overeating or eating the wrong foods. That’s why affirmations work so well in a women’s fitness program. When it comes to staying committed to your body, these daily declarations of victory can bring you closer to your fitness and weight loss goals.

When we set goals, we believe that we have the power to make these goals happen. Sometimes along the way we become uninspired and lose our motivation. If this sounds familiar, I urge you to try daily affirmations to lift you up. Affirmations are your personal motivator that you can call on every day to keep you focused on your goals. But first, you must love yourself and believe in the power of you.

Remember that affirmations should always be positive and without hesitation. Constant reminders of the goals that you want to achieve, your affirmations must be recited as a declaration of what you are doing and plan to do in the future. For instance, instead of saying, “I will get slimmer” use the words, “I am getting slimmer.” In the second affirmation the words “I am” indicate the action is already taking place, rather than a mere hope of something happening by chance.

It may take a little practice in the beginning but give affirmations a try. When I first started I couldn’t think of much to say, now I have so many it’s easy to say different ones each day. Below are 10 of my favorites to help you get started.

1. I enjoy eating healthy food.

2. I stop eating when I am satisfied.

3. I am stronger.

4. I will work out today.

5. Today I will run instead of walk.

6. I will lift an extra 5 pounds today.

7. I am getting thinner.

8. My tummy is getting flatter.

9. I feel confident and alive.

10. I am loved.

Seizing The Day With Positive Affirmations

December 15, 2014 By Karen Ficarelli

Each day we are faced with many decisions and temptations. Whether to skip the gym in order to take care of personal responsibilities, how to resist a favorite dessert at a family gathering, when to say no to alcoholic beverages, the list goes on and on. Making the best choices for these challenges can be troubling, but with positive affirmations the decision to do what is best for your body will always be an easy one to choose.

Affirmations are a positive way to affirm your beliefs and resolve to make positive changes in your life. Affirmations have a power all of their own because they help your brain to focus on your goals. Positive self-talk that declares an action is already taking place. Affirmations super charge the brain and make the connection between body, mind and soul. When you focus on positive thoughts and actions, your brain picks up on these thoughts and sets about a path to make them happen.

Positive thoughts and possessing a positive attitude are the weapons needed to conquer negative thoughts and the damage that a negative attitude can have. Negativity is like a weed that grows rapidly to choke out the light and air from all living things around it. If not conquered, it can grow out of control.

Write down your affirmations and repeat them to yourself. Standing in front of a mirror will bring you face to face with yourself. Look deep into your eyes and repeat your affirmations with conviction. Remember to stick to the positive and stay away from the negative. Your mind has a tendency to take the easy road, so instead of saying I will lose weight, concentrate on being thin and skinny. Focus on the positive and train your brain to do your bidding.

Keep in mind that your daily affirmations are for the present day only. Concentrate on the day at hand and don’t try to project too far into the future. Dieting and weight loss are a day-by-day challenge, focus on each day, be thankful for your achievements and do all that you can to attain success today.

Repeating your daily affirmations helps to supercharge your mind to follow the healthy lifestyle plan. By doing this everyday at approximately the same time each day will soon become a habit that your mind, body and spirit will crave. Use this time for positive thoughts, pushing out any negativity that tries to invade this process.

Positive Is The New Pretty

July 13, 2014 By Karen Ficarelli

You have no doubt heard the saying, Pretty is as Pretty does. It means that a person’s actions and their attitude about life can be the difference in how pretty they look on the outside. People with positive attitudes, who treat others with respect and kindness, are some of the prettiest people I know. I am drawn to this positive energy and find ways to bring these positive aspects to my life.

Recently, I was asked how I always maintain such a positive attitude. My answer was simple. It’s something that I strive for every day and in order to ensure a positive attitude, I begin each day with positive affirmations. Not only do I use them to keep me focused on health and fitness, but I also utilize affirmations in nearly every area of my life.

I do not allow negative thoughts and actions to take hold of my day. That doesn’t mean I don’t face negativity everyday, but this positive force does have a huge impact on how I handle life’s challenges.

The affirmations that I repeat to myself are sincere. I repeat my affirmations aloud with conviction and believe whole-heartedly that these statements are possible. This positive self-talk sets my day on the right track.

Some examples of my affirmations are as follows:

I am fully energized and ready to start the day.

I am beautiful today.

I will have a fabulous day, today.

I love to eat a healthy breakfast and enjoy every morsel.

I will leave for work on time.

I will have a pleasant ride to work.

When I exercise today it will make me feel stronger.

I will be kind to someone today.

Don’t let others get you down, with their negative talk or constant complaints. Be kind to all and surround yourself with people who have a positive outlook on life. You are not responsible for other people’s happiness. Strive for your happiness and share that love with everyone you can.

Positive affirmations are a proven and easy way to make a significant difference in your diet and weight loss efforts, too. As with all aspects of your life, believe what you say and allow your affirmations to focus your mind on making the right decisions.

Respect yourself the way you do others, and look for the positive attributes in everyone you meet. Choose to take the high road by sticking to your affirmations, knowing that the positive path is the way to victory.
