Firm Up For A Fit and Flattering Figure

August 25, 2021 By Karen Ficarelli

A flattering midsection can make you look fabulous. But you won’t need to cinch your waist in order to get an hourglass figure. You can learn to do exercises that will help you to firm your tummy muscles and tighten your core. The exercises are simple to learn and easy to execute. As they become easier, you can add weights for more resistance and better results.

For the absolutely sexiest abs, try the following exercise:
1. Standing with your feet slightly wider than hip’s width apart, hold your arms at shoulder height, with elbows bent in 90-degree angles.
2. Squeeze your shoulder blades together.
3. Move your rib cage to the left and extend your arms to form a diagonal line.
4. Keep your palms facing downward. Arms held back.
5. Return to your starting position. Squeeze shoulder blades together, again.
6. Move your rib cage to the right and extend your arms to form a diagonal line.
7. Keep your palms facing downward. Arms held back.
8. Return to your starting position.
9. Do 25 reps.

For strong, sleek and sexy arms, try this arm firming fitness routine:
1. Stand with feet slightly wider that hip’s width apart.
2. Hold arms straight out on each side, palms facing down.
3. Squeeze shoulder blades together.
4. As you release, shift your torso to the right, leading with your right hand and rotating palms until they are facing back.
5. Pull shoulder blades together again and repeat the same move on the left side.
6. Do 25 reps.

Exercise can transform your body and make it look fantastic. But appearance isn’t the only benefit that a good fitness program will provide. Building a stronger, healthier body is far more important than getting into your skinny jeans. However, being proud of a fit and beautiful body is perfectly healthy, too.

The truth is, one of the reasons that a fit body is so desirable is that it looks healthy. Firm muscles and a sculpted body give off the impression of a body that is strong and durable. Keep that in mind, when and if you are ever tempted to succumb to fad diets that just promise weight loss. The beauty of a slim and trim body is amplified when it is the result of a healthy lifestyle. Firm and fit, it’s the most flattering look you can have.

The Fabulous Look of Fitness

July 8, 2020 By Karen Ficarelli

Beauty is not only skin deep; beauty encompasses your body, mind and soul. And there’s nothing quite as stimulating to the beauty factor as a healthy fitness plan.

Womens Fitness is much more than losing weight. Remember, just because someone loses a lot of weight doesn’t mean that they are physically fit and weight loss alone does not constitute a healthy fitness plan.

All too often, we judge our physical health by how much we weigh. What a mistake! The number on a scale will only give you a limited assessment of what your physical health really is. Your body weight is comprised of the weight of your bones, organs, muscles, connective tissues, fluids and yes, fat.

The more you exercise the bigger your muscles will get. You will begin to lose fat but you may not see a big difference in the number on the scale. But tell me this, are your clothes getting a little loose? Do you see the change in your muscle definition throughout your body? These are true signs that you are shedding the fat.

The Department of Health suggests exercising 30 minutes a day, five days per week. Investing as little as 30 minutes a day in exercise, by combining resistance training and aerobic activities, can help you live longer and healthier. Exercise helps to:

• Stimulate feelings of euphoria.
• Reduce depression.
• Stall loss of muscle.
• Preserve the metabolism of youth.

Regardless of your age, weight or athletic ability, resistance training should make up part of your fitness program. Resistance exercises help to strengthen your body so that you will have an easier time with your aerobic activities. You see, these two types of exercise go hand in hand. Resistance training also helps your body look beautiful. After about 90 days you’ll begin to see the results¬¬¬¬ of your efforts–like a smaller waist, firmer legs, thinner ankles, and a more attractive derriere.

Be sure to keep a journal of what you eat and drink as well as keeping track of your exercise program and goals. Logging your measurements every 30 days will help you see what you have achieved and keep focused on your goals.

The Body Changing Effects of Cross Fit

June 19, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

Cross fit is an exercise program that combines strength training and cardio workouts in a fast paced, ever changing series of exercise moves. The exercises are always different so as to confuse the muscle groups and make them work harder. Each day the workout tests a different part of your functional strength with the goal of building a body that is highly capable to meet any challenge.

Crossfit is the training that is used for police and military, too. However, one noticeable thing about Crossfit is the ease of modification to suit your own fitness level. Crossfit has been described as a challenging workout in an encouraging and accepting environment. Your workout is based on your abilities; you are not competing with anyone else in the room. However, the vibe of the workout is enough of a challenge to make you want to improve each and every time you attend. As you become stronger, you will be able to do all exercises without having to modify any of them.

Many women become almost addicted to their Crossfit training classes. They begin to feel like something is missing if they don’t attend their Crossfit class. Along with a healthy dose of endorphins released into the body, strong feelings of accomplishment and happiness abound from regular workouts. The satisfaction that comes from these achievements is overwhelming. Women feel so confident that they never want to give up on their Crossfit training. Even though the addiction is only in jest, Crossfit is certainly a healthy habit to have.

Crossfit is for anyone who wants to take their fitness workout to the next level. Even beginners will find that Crossfit is an exceptional program to learn to do exercises correctly in order to achieve the best results. Since the exercises change everyday, you will notice changes in your body quicker than with most workouts.

Crossfit is a very supportive program, too. The trainers provide encouragement as well as the other members in the class. It has a real community atmosphere where everyone is connected by their desire to change their bodies for the better.

You can find a Crossfit class near you. Many of these workout programs have sprung up all over cities. They look different from a regular gym. You won’t find treadmills or elliptical machines, there are no Zumba classes or weight machines. The most important aspect that you want to look for in a Crossfit class is a good instructor or coach. Read reviews, ask coworkers for recommendations and interview the coaches before you sign on. A good coach can make all the difference and can help you change your body by making it stronger and more beautiful.

Why Fitness Is Important For Women

September 15, 2015 By Karen Ficarelli

For centuries, women never concerned themselves with fitness or staying active. They dieted to lose weight and the most exercise they got came from chasing their children. There were of course, exceptions to this rule. There were women who participated in physical games with their kids or maybe a bike ride with their husbands. But for the most part, women, once they were grown, didn’t make it a point to exercise. Only a few women understood why fitness is important to women.

Today, women are beginning to consider fitness and exercise an important part of staying healthy. As information becomes available about the benefits of exercise and the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle, women are paying close attention and doing something about it. They are making fitness a higher priority in their lives.

With a workforce of women earning nearly as much or more than their male counterparts, women have been plagued by many of the health problems that men have encountered for years. Women are often in higher managerial positions now and stress related illnesses and diseases associated with certain lifestyles have increased for women. Fighting off these life-threatening diseases is one more reason why fitness is important for women.

Staying physically fit helps to strengthen the heart, respiratory and mental functions. Studies have shown a direct link between fitness and brain function. By sticking to a regular fitness program, women in decision-making positions find it easier to perform their jobs and will be able to better deal with the stress.

Fitness is important for all women, regardless of their occupation. Whether reaching up while stacking shelves or bending down to pick up children, women use large and small muscles throughout their bodies to do every day tasks. Staying physically fit can aid in every moves made throughout the day.

Regular physical activity includes a combination of resistance and cardio exercises. Be sure to mix it up to get maximum results during each workout. Cardio activities raise the heartbeat and help the body to burn calories. Choose activities that you enjoy like walking, jogging, swimming, or cycling, for starters.

Women are busier today than ever and many may think they don’t have time for exercise. 30 minutes of exercise each day is all it takes to stay in shape. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym—just commit to exercising at least 30 minutes a day and reap the full benefits of fitness.
