Finding The Strength To Take Control

February 12, 2020 By Karen Ficarelli

Taking control of your life will give you the freedom to live your life to the fullest. But taking control is not an easy task. There are many obstacles that stand in the way. Taking control is not for the faint of heart; you must be strong to take control.

Taking control of your life means being in control of what and when you eat. It means making time for exercise, it means giving yourself time for adequate rest and it means controlling the stress in your life. If you want to lose weight and get in shape, you must take control of your life.

Your life is a gift; your body is the treasure. The time you spend on your health and fitness will pay off physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. The better your health, the less money you will need to spend trying to make yourself feel better.

There are so many reasons to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. The problem is that it’s easy to become lazy and complacent. Unused muscles become weak and usually hurt when you first begin or restart an exercise program. It becomes easier to stay home than go to the gym. That is when you must take control. Your muscles will get better, power through these feelings. Take control of your mind, take control of your actions and begin working toward your goals.

Don’t allow anything to stand in your way. Every time you deny yourself the ability to take control, the unhappier you become. It’s a natural right to control your actions. You just have to rise above the temptations and the weakness.

Your health and happiness depends on your ability to take control of your life. You were not meant to be a slave to weakness. You are a beautiful person and deserve the right to take control of your body, your life and your time.

Give yourself the gift of time. Time to plan a healthy menu each day and time for exercise and physical activity. You will never regret the time spent on your health and fitness. You will never regret the time spent with family. Spend your time doing the things that are good for you and things that you enjoy. Find the strength within you to take control.

Inspired By Love

August 21, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

Many of us are inspired by love. We go to work each day, prepare dinner for our families, run errands and act as a taxi, all for the sake of love. We are inspired to do the extra things we do because it will in some way benefit the ones we love. When you truly love someone, it’s easy to put their wants and needs before your own. When you are in love, being with your significant other is more important than anything else in the world.

Love for others is a wonderful thing, but we must love ourselves, too. Loving ourselves means doing everything we can to make ourselves healthy and whole. It means eating foods that nourish and satisfy our hunger. Loving yourself means staying active, keeping all your organs, especially your heart, working at top condition. It means seeing your doctor regularly and following his or her advice. Loving yourself means taking care of you.

There is nothing more inspiring than love. When you love another, you want to make them happy. When you are happy it is easy to make others happy. Dedicating time to yourself is one way to channel into your own happiness and contentment. Making your body as healthy as it can be is a real sign that a woman cares for and loves herself.

True beauty is inspired by love and what could be more beautiful than a woman who cares for herself as well as those around her? A woman, who nurtures her family, is loyal to her friends, reaches out to neighbors and devotes time to herself.

Set aside time each day just for your. Spend time reading, writing and listening to music that you enjoy. Allow yourself time for your thoughts and your affirmations. Make time for you everyday. You deserve as much of yourself as you give to others.

Be sure to get at least 3 hours of exercise each week. Whether you exercise alone, with your husband or your children, or with a friend, the time spent exercising should be in addition to the time you set aside for yourself. Finding all this time won’t be easy, but you are important and it is time you made some special time for you. You probably won’t find the time, so it is up to you to make the time. Remember, you are in control, so take charge now.

Inspired by love…for God, for yourself, for your husband, for your family and for your friends. A healthy, confident and positive you can inspire them all.

When Your Friend Hits The Weight Loss Lottery

January 23, 2019 By Karen Ficarelli

There are few things in life that will inspire you to lose weight more than seeing your friend’s waistline shrink before your very eyes. You may have been sort of dieting or sort of working out, but just haven’t fully committed to doing what it takes to lose the weight. It’s true that any sort of healthy lifestyle changes are good, but if you really want to make a difference in your fitness program, then you will probably have to work a little harder.

Of course, if there is nothing challenging you, then you are probably perfectly content with the fitness level and size you are now. But then your friend comes along, getting all serious about her workout and as the weeks go by, her extra pounds go bye-bye, too. Now, she’s got your attention. Now, you feel the urgency to do more with your workout. Now, you are finally inspired to take action.

Although there is no such thing as a weight loss lottery, when someone we know loses weight, it is as if they hit the lottery. With the excess pounds gone, they look and behave differently. Slimmer, trimmer and with an air of confidence, they parade around as if weight loss was something simple. They act as if they have found and hold the secret to staying slim.

The jealousy that you feel can be transformed into the inspirational fuel you need to get you in the right frame of mind. Don’t be angry with your friend for losing weight. Use their inspiration, motivation and discipline to help you get started with your own weight loss plan. If weight loss is on your mind, then you have already taken the first step to a better body.

If you feel jealous of your friend for losing weight, then it is high time that you figured out what changes you need to make in your diet in order to reduce your size. Never give up. Keep improving every day. You will reach your goal and you will be better just for trying.

Weight loss starts with inspiration, is fueled by motivation and affirmed by keeping a fitness journal. The Fitness4Her Diet and Exercise plan includes diets designed for you, exercises that are easy to do and a journal to keep you inspired, motivated and accountable for your healthy lifestyle.

Confidence Is Not A Dirty Word

May 10, 2016 By Karen Ficarelli

You may have laughed when you read the title to this article, but recently I have discovered that many women feel like confidence is something they don’t deserve. To them it is a word that shouldn’t be spoken, a word that sounds too boastful. But, in reality, confidence is a liberating word that allows us to be all that we can be.

Confidence is defined as a belief or self-assurance in your ability to succeed. The steps that lead us to this feeling of certainty are the ones that define our willingness to try and succeed. Women who are confident in their own bodies and abilities have a certain air about them that can be recognized in the way that they carry themselves.

Women who are confident are often the target of ridicule and criticism. For many reasons there are people who are uncomfortable in the presence of confident women. It’s not always easy to feel at ease in our confidence, even though we know there is nothing wrong with feeling confident in our bodies and the way we dress and move.

Try not to let other people influence the way you feel about yourself. You have worked hard, paid your dues, and deserve to feel confident in your ability to succeed. Misery loves company, but you don’t have to attend anyone’s pity party.

Having confidence means being in control of your actions. This includes your emotions, your body and your mind. You make the decisions and accept full accountability. Confidence doesn’t come from being right all the time, either. A confident woman admits when she is wrong and realizes that making mistakes is part of every process. She doesn’t fear other’s opinions and she stands her ground on matters that are important to her.

Being confident in your own body is something that is often hard to achieve. We tend to measure ourselves according to other’s expectations and feel ashamed if we don’t measure up, so to speak.

Exercise is one way to boost your confidence. Not only does physical activity release those feel-good endorphins, exercise makes us feel pride in our accomplishments. Achieving levels of fitness that you didn’t think you could accomplish will definitely make you feel proud and more confident in your own body.

Remember, confidence is a wonderful thing and can be spoken aloud. Be strong, be proud and feel confident.

Love The Body You Have

August 8, 2014 By Karen Ficarelli

Don’t wait for the body you want to love, love the body you have right now. No matter what your age, size or shape, it’s your body and it deserves all the love you have to give it. A complete work of art, a woman’s body is a gift to be treasured and admired. If you aren’t giving your body the respect it deserves, maybe it’s time you allowed yourself to fall in love with it, again.

If the number you see on the scale makes you feel guilty or ashamed, it’s time to relieve yourself of those incriminations and set yourself free. You are more than your weight; you are a child of God and therefore a perfect being. If you can’t wrap your head around that then you need to change the opinion you have of yourself.

Accepting who you are is sometimes difficult, but not impossible. The tendency to downplay your own achievements is prevalent, as is the temptation to criticize the image staring back from the mirror. You have to take control of your mind and the way you process your thoughts to change this well practiced behavior. It is not easy to change the way you think, but it is possible.

When you look at yourself in the mirror, only concentrate on all the things you like about your image. Accentuate your best traits and focus on them, drowning out all the negative thoughts and critical views that may be popping into your head. Every time a less than desirable thought enters your mind, counteract it with a healthy positive compliment to yourself. If you do this, you will uncover more and more features that you like about your body.

Learn to love the body you have and take care of it like you will own it for life. A funny statement for sure, but the truth is, your body will last you your lifetime. That is why exercise and diet are really important. In addition to making your body look fabulous, women’s fitness, including diet and exercise, is the key to a long and healthy life. What you eat and how much you exercise, have much to do with the size and shape of your body and how you feel most of the time. Give your body the love it needs, and your body will repay you with beauty and health.
